Joseph in 14 days. Betrayed, sold, forgotten in prison, and still trusting God. Walk through Joseph's story one chapter a day.
Each day, read the passage and write a SOAP (Scripture, Observation, Application, Prayer) with the day's question in mind.
Day 1: Genesis 37. Which do you relate to more right now: Joseph's dreams or his brothers' jealousy?
Day 2: Genesis 38. The story pauses to follow Judah at his worst. Watch for him again in chapter 44. What does this chapter show you about how far someone can be from God?
Day 3: Genesis 39. Joseph did the right thing and still ended up in prison. How does that change how you think about doing the right thing?
Day 4: Genesis 40. Joseph helped others while he was still stuck. Who could you help this week, even though your own situation isn't fixed?
Day 5: Genesis 41. "I cannot do it, but God will" (41:16). Where do you need to give God the credit instead of taking it?
Day 6: Genesis 42. The brothers still feel guilty about what they did years ago (42:21). Is there something from your past you need to bring to God?
Day 7: Genesis 43. Joseph had to leave the room to cry (43:30). What do you think was happening in his heart?
Day 8: Genesis 44. Judah offers himself in Benjamin's place. What changed in him since chapter 37?
Day 9: Genesis 45. "It was not you who sent me here, but God" (45:8). Is there someone you need to forgive?
Day 10: Genesis 46. God tells Jacob, "Do not be afraid to go down to Egypt" (46:3). What new step are you afraid to take?
Day 11: Genesis 47. Jacob calls his years "few and difficult" (47:9). What does it look like to be honest with God about hard seasons?
Day 12: Genesis 48. Jacob blesses the younger grandson first. Why do you think God so often chooses the unexpected person?
Day 13: Genesis 49. Judah's blessing points to a king who will come from his family (49:10). Why does it matter that Jesus came from Judah's line?
Day 14: Genesis 50. "You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good" (50:20). What would it take for you to say that about something in your life?
